Envoy envisages summit transforming Sino-Angolan co-operation

Chinese Ambassador to Angola Cui Aimin thinks the Sino-African summit meeting in Beijing next month may transform co-operation between China and Angola for the better, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency quotes Mr Cui as saying in an interview that China and Angola should seize new opportunities that arise from the summit.

The ambassador said China and Angola should look for new ways to work together in finance, infrastructure construction, trade, healthcare and job training.

Since 2000 China has helped Angola build or rehabilitate 2,800 kilometres of railway and 20,000 kilometres of road, and to build over 100,000 homes in public housing, over 100 schools and over 50 hospitals, Xinhua says.
