The hospital affiliated to the Gansu University of Chinese Medicine in northwestern China and a Brazilian medical institute are jointly setting up a centre for Chinese traditional medicine in the Brazilian city of São Paulo, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese government-run news agency quotes the head of the hospital, Zhang Xiaogang, as saying the partners have agreed on where to put the centre and how to train its staff.
In May 20 Brazilians went to Gansu to be trained as practitioners of Chinese traditional medicine, Xinhua says.
Gansu authorities have increased efforts to promote Traditional Chinese Medicine overseas, with eight medical colleges and six medical centres in countries such as Kyrgyzstan, Hungary, and France, the news agency says.
Last year the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine said that China had established 26 overseas centres in the past three years, most of which are in countries along the Belt and Road initiative, the report adds.
