Brazilian inflation slows in July

The annual rate of consumer price inflation in Brazil slowed to 4.48 percent last month, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency, citing data compiled by the Brazilian statistics agency, says the main drivers of inflation last month were increases in housing and transport costs.

The Brazilian central bank has set a target range between 3 percent and 6 percent for the annual rate of consumer price inflation this year.

The annual rate of inflation was 2.95 percent last year, the slowest since 1998, Xinhua says.
