Chinese, Portuguese officials discuss business cooperation

Chinese State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission Vice-chairman Zhao Aiming and Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency President Luís Castro Henriques have held talks about cooperation among Chinese and Portuguese enterprises, Ms Zhao’s commission says.

The commission issued a written statement saying the officials, when they met last week, also talked about the part Portugal can play in the Chinese Belt and Road initiative.

The statement quotes Ms Zhao was telling her guest that her commission and the companies it controls will continue to facilitate Sino-Portuguese cooperation in the energy, clean-energy vehicle and other businesses.

Portugal is willing to cooperate ever more closely with Ms Zhao’s commission and welcomes Chinese investment, the statement quotes Mr Henriques as saying.
