Chinese researchers study northern Portuguese medicinal plants

Two researchers of traditional Chinese medicine have visited Terras de Bouro in northern Portugal to investigate the cultivation and use of medicinal plants found there, the Terras de Bouro municipal authorities say.

The authorities issued a written statement saying the visitors are an adviser to the World Health Organization on traditional forms of medicine, Xin Min Liu, and Southwest Medical University Vice-president Yang Sijing.

The researchers met the mayor of Terras de Bouro and visited the museum there.

The visit was a manifestation of a programme of Sino-Portuguese co-operation involving the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology and the University of Minho in Portugal.
