Chinese traditional medicine park has Cabo Verde visitor

The company that runs the Guangdong-Macao Traditional Chinese Medicine Technology Industrial Park says a Cabo Verde government official, Patrícia Alfama, visited the park his month with a view to increasing Sino-Cabo Verde exchanges.

The park, near Macao, is a joint endeavour by the authorities in Macao and the neighbouring Mainland Chinese province of Guangdong.

The park operator issued a written statement saying Ms Alfama is involved in regulating medicines in Cabo Verde.

The statement quotes Ms Alfama as saying she sought to learn about the development of Chinese traditional medicine in the hope of increasing cooperation by her government and the park.

She said the park could help teach her government about regulating the forms of traditional medicine practised in her own country.

The park has agreed to train Cabo Verdean health professionals in the practice of Chinese traditional medicine,  the operator says.
