Macao Polytechnic Institute launches Portuguese-language app

The Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) has introduced a smartphone application it has developed for Chinese learning Portuguese or visiting the Portuguese-speaking Countries.

MPI issued a written statement saying the app, called Diz lá!, lets users conduct simple conversations in Portuguese about topics such as the Chinese government’s Belt and Road initiative, economics, trade, shopping and leisure.

The statement quotes Macao Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam Chon Weng as saying at the launching: “Macao has stepped into a new era. There is great potential for developing smartphone applications for Chinese learning Portuguese.”

No institution of higher education in Macao can afford to ignore the unlimited possibilities in this area, MPI quotes Mr Tam as saying.
