China Road and Bridge Corp. (CRBC) should finish laying the deck of the US$725 million Maputo-Catembe Bridge over Maputo Bay in Mozambique today, completing the work ahead of schedule, Notícias reports.
The Mozambican newspaper says a crane will put in place the last of the 57 prefabricated pieces of the deck, each weighing between 125 tonnes and 137 tonnes.
The first piece of the deck of the four-lane road bridge was installed at the beginning of this month.
The work was originally due to take at least 30 days, Notícias says.
