Mainland FDI rises 3.9 pct in first 11 months of the year

Inflows of foreign direct investment to the Mainland reached 731.8 billion yuan (US$113.8 billion) in the first 11 months of this year – a year-on-year increase of 3.9 percent – government-run news agency Xinhua reports.

The report quoted data from the Ministry of Commerce which recorded a slowing of growth from 4.2-percent in the period from January to October.

Investment in the services sector jumped by 8 percent to 513.3 billion yuan in the first 11 months of this year compared to last year. Investment in high technology more than doubled to 88.14 billion yuan.

Meanwhile, the Mainland’s nonfinancial outbound direct investment surged to US$161.7 billion in the first 11 months of the year, a 55.3 percent increase over the same period last year.
