Honorary Consulate of Guiné-Bissau in Macao opens

The Honorary Consulate of Guiné-Bissau in Macao has opened on the 13th floor of the Centre Golden Dragon to facilitate Sino-Guiné-Bissau co-operation and exchanges, the Macao Daily News reports.

The newspaper says Macao Chief Executive Chui Sai On, Guiné-Bissau Foreign Minister João Ribeiro Butiam Có and Guiné-Bissau Honorary Consul in Macao Chan Meng Kam attended the opening ceremony.

The report quotes Mr Butiam Có as saying the appointment of an honorary consul and the opening of the honorary consulate are important for the Sino-Guiné-Bissau relationship.

Mr Chan means to visit Guiné-Bissau this year to look at how China and Guiné-Bissau co-operate, the Macao Daily News quotes the honorary consul as saying.
