China, Cape Verde officials discuss greater co-operation in healthcare

The Cape Verdean Minister of Health, Arlindo do Rosário, has met representatives from a medical team from Sichuan to discuss improving bilateral co-operation in healthcare, Inforpress reports.

The Cape Verdean news agency quoted Mr Rosário as saying Sichuan has supported the Agostinho Neto Hospital in the capital, Praia, by supplying medical equipment and training for 28 years.

The report says existing ties would be extended to other areas, including at the Baptista de Sousa Hospital in São Vicente.

Rádio Televisão de Cabo Verde recently reported Beijing would donate about 3 million yuan (US$435,700) to fund healthcare-related projects in the archipelago.
