China National Petroleum Corp is considering investing in facilities for natural gas exploration and processing in Mozambique, the Macauhub website has reported.

Any investment would depend on the findings from research into the Rovuma Basin, according to Wang Hongtao, the oil company’s director of the international department.

A delegation led by CNPC president Wang Yilin is currently in Mozambique, assessing business opportunities with oil and gas firm Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos.
