Envoy says China, Angola to tighten economic, political ties

Chinese Ambassador to Angola Dong Tao has said senior figures in China and Angola will visit each other’s country more often with a view to increasing Sino-Angolan co-operation in manufacturing, farming, fishing, mining and education, and with a view to enhancing Sino-Angolan political trust, Angop reports.

The Angolan news agency quotes Mr Dong as saying so when he met the presiding officer of the Angolan legislature, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.

Mr Dong said China was pleased with the Angolan policy of trying to make the economy less dependent on oil, and of attracting foreign investment in manufacturing and farming.

He said Angola was on course to develop sustainably and attract more foreign investment.

China is the main trading partner of Angola and the main buyer of Angolan oil, Angop says.
