Sino-Brazilian co-operation on infrastructure discussed

The Chinese Embassy in Brasília and the Brazilian Ministry of Infrastructure have jointly put on a seminar on Sino-Brazilian co-operation on infrastructure, the China News Service reports.

The Chinese state-run news agency says over 100 people gathered in Brasília yesterday for the seminar, including Chinese diplomats and Brazilian officials, and businesspeople and journalists from China and Brazil.

The report quotes Chinese Ambassador to Brazil Yang Wanming as telling the seminar that Brazil could play a major role in Chinese Belt and Road schemes in Latin America.

He also urged better co-ordination between the Belt and Road and the Brazilian government’s Investment Partnerships Programme for investment in infrastructure.

Chinese enterprises are welcome to invest in Brazil, and to deploy their capital and know-how there to improve the infrastructure and develop the country, the China News Service quotes Brazilian officials at the seminar as saying.
