Mozambique imported 185,000 tonnes of Chinese gasoil in the first two months of this year, becoming one of the six biggest markets for Chinese gasoil in that period, S&P Global Platts reports.
The collector of oil market information says China sold Mozambique no gasoil in the corresponding period last year.
China exported 3.35 million tonnes of gasoil in the first two months of this year, 44 percent more than a year earlier, mostly because its sales in Africa increased, official data indicate.
Last month S&P Global Platts said Mozambique had bought 316,000 tonnes of Chinese gasoil last year, having bought just 7,000 tonnes the year before, and that it was on course to buy more than ever this year.
At the time the collector of oil market information said Chinese authorities had given out export quotas for the sale of 14.15 million tonnes of gasoline and gasoil, 2.98 percent more than in the corresponding period last year.
