Cape Verde’s central bank expects economy to grow by 3-4 pct in 2016-17

The central bank of Cape Verde expects the economy of the archipelago to grow in a range between 3 percent and 4 percent this year and next.

In its most recent Monetary Policy Report, the forecasts from the Bank of Cape Verde reflect a more favourable environment for private investment and a decline in consumer prices, which will have a positive impact on private consumption.

In contrast, the government expects GDP to grow by 5.5 percent next year, according to draft Budget documents to be presented to the National Assembly soon, the Macauhub website reports.
