Top Portuguese language students recognised by Portugal

High-achieving Chinese students of the Portuguese language have been recognised at the second edition of the Tomás Pereira Award scheme, Xinhua reports.

Xinhua, a government-run news agency, says 97 students from 20 tertiary institutions took part in the competition.

Four students won scholarships for Portuguese courses sponsored by the University of Aveiro, University of Coimbra, Universidade de Lisboa and Universidade do Porto in Portugal.

Tuesday’s awards presentation at Portugal’s Embassy in Beijing was attended by ambassadors from Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Mozambique and East Timor.
