Cape Verde lowers fees on the import and export of seafood

The government of Cape Verde will lower import and export fees on seafood, the A Semana newspaper reports.

“After analysing the sector’s internal and external situation, and taking into account the importance of fishing in employment and in exports, the government has decided to change the fees for exporting and importing [of certain products], especially fish,” Fernando Elísio Freire, the Council of Ministers spokesperson, was quoted as saying.

The move is part of a package of measures designed to improve the business environment in Cape Verde.
