Southern Chinese businesspeople wrap up visit to Portugal

The Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) says a party of businesspeople from the Pan-Pearl River Delta region of southern China have completed a visit to Portugal arranged by the Macao SAR Government.

The institute issued a written statement saying the visitors learned about how Portugal makes and carries out policies meant to protect the environment, and how it finances them.

The party visited the Chinese Embassy in Lisbon, and the offices of the Portuguese Environment Agency, the Portuguese central bank, Millennium BCP bank and utility Energias de Portugal SA.

They took part in exchanges arranged by IPIM, the Monetary Authority of Macao, the Macao Environmental Protection Bureau and the Portuguese Trade and Investment Agency.

The visitors heard Chinese Ambassador to Portugal Cai Run express the hope that Macao will actively serve its purpose as a place where China and the lusophone world can conduct business, IPIM says.
