Chinese-built agritech facility handed over to Angola

The Angolan Government has formally taken possession of its new Agricultural Technology Demonstration Centre, financed and build by the Chinese Government, the Chinese Embassy in Luanda has announced.

The embassy issued a written statement saying the centre occupies 54 hectares of land near the capital, and is divided into planting demonstration, breeding demonstration, production and processing, and administration areas.

The statement quotes Chinese Ambassador to Angola Cui Aimin as saying at the turnover ceremony that the prospects for Sino-Angolan cooperation in farming are bright. Mr Cui said China and Angola should exploit the work done by the centre to find new ways to cooperate in agriculture.

Chinese support is important for the development of Angola, and is an example of Sino-Angolan friendship, the Chinese Embassy in Luanda quotes Angolan officials at the turnover ceremony as saying.
