Chinese businesspeople interested in Angolan coffee

Angolan Trade Minister Jofre Van-Duném Júnior has said Chinese businesspeople have expressed interest in importing coffee from his country, Angop reports.

The Angolan state-owned news agency says the minister was speaking to reporters on his return home from the China International Import Expo in Shanghai last week.

Mr Van Duném Júnior said a display at the expo by Angolan state-run coffee company Cafangol-UEE attracted many visitors.

Angop quotes him as saying: “In Shanghai alone there are over 20,000 coffee sales outlets – and that is an export opportunity, as part of our economic diversification”.

Luanda-Bengo Special Economic Zone President António da Silva said on his return from Shanghai that he had made contact with Chinese that may be interested in investing in his zone, Angop says.
