Cabo Verde Industry, Trade and Energy Minister Alexandre Monteiro is visiting Mainland China with a view to attracting Chinese investment in his country, the Cabo Verde government has announced.
The government issued a written statement saying Mr Monteiro has had meetings in the central Chinese city of Xi’an with representatives of a builder, Top International Engineering Co., and a maker of wind turbines, Xi’an Yongdian Goldwind Science and Technology Co, which have expressed interest in investing in Cabo Verde.
The statement says that in the southern city of Shenzhen Mr Monteiro will meet representatives of Truewind, the company that has the contract to light the streets of the Cabo Verde capital, Praia, with LED lamps.
Chinese Trade Minister Zhong Shan invited Mr Monteiro to visit China and attend the China International Import Expo in Shanghai, the Cabo Verde government says.
