Cabo Verde President Jorge Fonseca and Prime Minister Ulisses Correia e Silva have expressed their intention to strengthen Sino-Cabo Verde links and increase co-operation, Xinhua reports.
The Chinese state-run news agency says they did so in a meeting with visiting Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference National Committee Vice-chairman Wang Gang.
The report quotes Mr Wang as saying China is similarly interested in strengthening Sino-Cabo Verde links.
Mr Wang said Sino-Cabo Verde relations could become a model for international relationships of equality between countries of different size, and for international solidarity and co-operation.
Cabo Verde and China should co-operate in a wider variety of fields, and Cabo Verde will be an active partner the Chinese Belt and Road scheme, Xinhua quotes Mr Fonseca as saying.
