China International Import Expo to have Portuguese pavilion

A Portuguese pavilion will be set up at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai from November 5 to 10 to show off Portuguese food and drink, design ability, tourist draws, healthcare and involvement in the motor vehicle industry, the China News Service reports.

The news agency quotes Portuguese Consul-General in Shanghai Israel Saraiva as saying in an interview: “Portugal believes the expo will also be a window showcasing China’s reform and openness.”

Mr Saraiva said many Portuguese companies would be represented at the expo with a view to making contact with Chinese dealers to increase the amount of business they do in China.

The consul-general hopes China and Portugal will celebrate 40 years of diplomatic relations next year by seeking to increase their trade and other economic exchanges, the China News Service reports.
