Mainland companies abroad employed about 1.5 million foreign staff members last year, Xinhua reports.
The government-run news agency quotes Chinese Minister of Commerce Zhong Shan, who made the comments at the annual session of the National People’s Congress.
Chinese companies abroad had sales worth US$1.5 trillion last year, and they paid the governments in the countries where they operated some US$40 billion in taxes on those sales, Xinhua quotes Mr Zhong as saying.
