Minister says Portugal has green light to export pork to China soon

Portuguese Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Luís Capoulas Santos has announced that his country will soon be allowed to export pork to China, TSF reports.

The Portuguese radio station quotes Mr Santos as saying: “That we have been able to unblock access to the market in China is a very important step.”

The minister said the process had been difficult, but that Portugal and China had reached agreement and that only a few administrative issues had to be dealt with before exports of pork could begin.

Mr Santos was speaking at the Fruit Logistica 2017 international fruit and vegetable fair in Germany, which had over 40 Portuguese stands, TSF says.
