Mozambican parliament president, business delegation to visit China

The president of the parliament of Mozambique, Verónica Macamo, will visit China this month with a view to increasing Sino-Mozambican co-operation, O País reports.

The Mozambican newspaper says Ms Macamo will be accompanied by a delegation of businesspeople when she visits, from 13 to 17 February.

The report says Ms Macamo and Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique Su Jian met yesterday when the envoy made a call on parliament in Maputo.

In the meeting Ms Macamo stressed the importance of a Chinese-funded project to increase the facilities available to parliament.

Mr Su later praised the efforts of Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi and the leader of the RENAMO party, Afonso Dhlakama, to ensure peace reigns in their country, O País says.
