Govt forecasts new FDI in Mozambique will double in 2019

The government of Mozambique forecasts that the annual inflow of foreign direct investment into the country will grow to US$5.7 billion next year from US$2.8 billion this year, O País reports.

The Mozambican newspaper says the budget bill for next year contains the forecast.

The last time Mozambique had a greater annual inflow of FDI was in 2014, when it had US$6.1 billion worth of new investment.

The report says US oil company Anadarko Petroleum Corp is expected to make big investments in the Mozambican oil and gas industry next year.
