Chinese envoy inspects work on college campus in Cabo Verde

Chinese Ambassador to Cabo Verde Du Xiaocong has inspected building work on the new campus of the University of Cabo Verde, a project supported by China, the Chinese Embassy in Praia says.

A written statement issued by the Embassy says progress has been smooth since the work began a year ago.

The new campus is the largest project supported by China in Cabo Verde, the Chinese Embassy in Praia says.

Last year the Portuguese news agency, Lusa, reported that China would pay in full the €45 million (US$52.45 million) cost of the new campus, which is designed to accommodate 4,890 students and 476 teachers.
