Brazil hoping BRICS, lusophone group will work together

Brazilian Ambassador to South Africa Nedilson Jorge has said his country would like the bloc comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) to co-operate with the Community of Portuguese Language Countries, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes Mr Jorge as saying in an interview that dialogue between the BRICS and the lusophone group has the potential to lead to structured programmes of co-operation in various matters.

A BRICS summit meeting began yesterday in the South African city of Johannesburg, and the presidents of Angola and Mozambique have been invited to attend, Lusa says.
