Portuguese among students to be trained by Huawei

Among the hundreds of foreign students taking a training programme next month arranged by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd of China will be 10 Portuguese, Sapo reports.

The Portuguese news website says the company is putting on part of the two-week programme, called Seeds for the Future, at its base in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen.

The report says the trainees will use the Huawei laboratories and interact with leading engineers there.

The company is putting on the other part of the programme, an intensive course in Chinese, in Beijing.

Huawei Portugal Chief Executive Chris Lu believes the training will help develop the information technology industry in Portugal and add to the expertise of the students taking it, Sapo says.
