Mozambican festival features Chinese culture

Chinese culture was put on show this month at the first International Culture Festival in Mozambique, the Chinese Embassy in Maputo says.

The embassy issued a written statement saying Chinese performances, displays, food tastings, and stalls selling books or other products were features of the festival.

The highlights included Chinese calligraphy, Kung Fu, singing and dancing, the Chinese tea ceremony and face-painting.

The Mozambican Ministry of Culture and Tourism organised the festival, and the Confucius Institute at Eduardo Mondlane University, Chinese businesses and Mozambican students that have studied in China contributed to the event.

Over 1,000 people attended the festival, the Chinese Embassy in Maputo says.
