Consultants tip Angolan economy to grow 1.9 pct in 2018

British consulting firm Focus Economics forecasts that Angolan gross domestic product will grow by 1.9 percent this year and 2.3 percent next year, so ending a two-year-long recession, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes an analysis of African economies published by Focus Economics as concluding that increases in prices of the raw materials Angola exports, greater investment and improvements in government finances will buoy the economy.

By way of comparison, the consultants forecast that the economy of Sub-Saharan African as a whole will grow by 3.5 percent this year and 3.7 percent next year, Lusa says.
