TAP to start Brazil-China air cargo service

TAP President Miguel Frasquilho has said the Portuguese airline will start this year an air cargo service between Brazil and China via Portugal, Dinheiro Vivo reports.

The Portuguese financial news website quotes Mr Frasquilho as saying said a Boeing 747 freighter shared by TAP and Chinese airline Beijing Capital Airlines will ply the route.

He called the route “a fast lane between the Far East and Brazil”.

The report also quotes Mr Frasquilho as saying TAP wishes to have its own passenger service between Lisbon and Beijing in three or four years.

At present TAP and Beijing Capital Airlines have a code-sharing arrangement for passenger flights plying that route, Dinheiro Vivo says.
