China Gezhouba buys São Paulo water supplier

The Brazilian subsidiary of Chinese state-owned construction company China Gezhouba Group Co. Ltd has bought a water supply company in the Brazilian city of São Paulo, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese state-run news agency, citing an announcement by China Gezhouba, says the company acquired can supply 1.5 million consumers in São Paulo, a city chronically short of water, with 410,000 tonnes of water a day.

A separate report by Reuters identifies the water supplier as Sistema Produtor São Lourenço SA.
