Portugal 4th-biggest European exporter of wine to China in 2017

Official figures indicate that Portugal was the 4th-biggest European source of Chinese imports of wine last year, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency, citing data compiled by the European Commission, says Portugal sold €18 million (US$21.1 million) worth of wine to China last year, meaning China bought 2.6 per cent of Portuguese wine exports by value.

France was the biggest European supplier of wine to China, Spain the second-biggest and Italy the third-biggest, Lusa says.
