Portugal proportionately a favourite of Chinese investors

The results of an academic study indicate that Chinese investment as a proportion of the size of the economy invested in was greater in Portugal than in any other European economy except Finland between 2010 and 2016, Jornal de Notícias reports.

The Portuguese newspaper says the study was published by the ESADE Business School in Spain.

The report quotes the author of the study, Ivana Casaburi of ESADE, as saying Chinese invest in a wider range of fields in Portugal than in other countries.

Chinese invested US$7.32 billion in Portugal between 2010 and 2016, the 7th-biggest amount invested by Chinese anywhere in Europe, Jornal de Notícias says.
