Chinese official calls Sino-Brazilian relations ’mature and stable’

An official of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said the relationship between China and Brazil has entered what he called a “mature and stable” stage of its development, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese state-run news agency quotes the official, Zhao Bentang of the Latin American and Caribbean department of the ministry, as saying in an interview that China has been the largest trading partner of Brazil for many years, the annual value of bilateral trade having grown by nearly 30 percent last year to US$87.54 billion.

China is willing to work with the government and people of Brazil to strengthen the Sino-Brazilian strategic partnership, Xinhua quotes Mr Zhao as saying.
