Chinese invest S$1.34 bln in Brazil in first 4 months of 2018

Official figures indicate that the value of investment by Chinese companies in Brazil in the first 4 months of 2018 was US$1.34 billion, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese state-run news agency, citing data compiled by the Brazilian Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management, says Chinese companies invested US$992.7 million in Brazil last month, putting their money into oil and gas, machinery, education, trading and retailing.

Xinhua quotes Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management Secretary of International Affairs Jorge Arbache as saying he hopes Chinese companies will increase their green-field investment in Brazil and introduce new technology.
