Cultures of China, Portuguese-speaking world to meet in Macao

Macao Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Alexis Tam says Macao will hold in July the first of a series of events bringing together the cultures of China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries, Lusa reports.

The Portuguese news agency quotes Mr Tam as saying that the event will be small to begin with but grow much bigger over the succeeding two years.

The report says the event will include a film festival, art exhibitions and conferences.

Mr Tam was speaking on the last day of the Women Artists 1st International Biennial of Macao, at which the work of over 100 artists was shown, including the work of artists in each of the Portuguese-speaking Countries, Lusa says.
