Brazil’s interim President to visit China in September

Brazil’s interim President, Michel Temer, is due to visit China in September to sign a trade and services co-operation deal with the Asian nation, the Brazilian government said on Friday.

Brazil’s Minister of Development, Industry and Trade, Marcos Pereira, discussed the details of that trip last weekend in a meeting held in Shanghai with the Chinese Minister of Commerce, Gao Hucheng.

Mr Pereira was in China to take part in the G20 Trade Ministers’ Meeting. The G20 countries represent the world’s major economies.

According to a statement issued by Brazil’s Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Mr Gao also said the Chinese government would agree to Brazil’s request to accelerate the signing of a contract covering the acquisition of 10 Embraer aircraft from the South American country and other aviation-related issues.
