Traders from Portugal’s Algarve eye China market

The Portugal-China Youth Entrepreneur Association (also known by the Portuguese acronym AJEPC) and the Algarve Association of Commerce and Services (ACRAL) have signed a protocol aimed at increasing the exports of products from the Portuguese region of Algarve to the Chinese market, Portuguese news agency Lusa reported on Wednesday.

The President of ACRAL, Álvaro Viegas, said – as quoted by the media outlet – that it is targeting Algarve’s high-quality products toward some niche markets in China.

ACRAL also said, in a statement, it hopes to develop the relationship between Algarve’s business people and those of China. It would do that by sharing information about business opportunities and fairs in Algarve and China, and information about business delegations travelling between the two countries. Mr Viegas added Macau could act as the “entrance door to China” for Algarve.
