The Boston University Global Development Policy Center says more Chinese money for building energy infrastructure has gone to Angola than to any other African country in the past 18 years, Macauhub reports.
The news website, citing the results of a study by the US institution, says the China Development Bank has put US$8.9 billion into two oil extraction projects in Angola, both led by the Angolan state-owned oil company, Sonangol.
The report says China has put over US$34.8 billion into building energy infrastructure in Africa since 2000.
China is now putting a greater proportion of its investment in new energy infrastructure into Africa than into any other part of the world, having invested US$6.8 billion in building energy infrastructure on the continent last year, Macauhub says.
