China Triumph International Engineering Co. Ltd (CTIEC) has said it will start in the next few weeks construction of the 220MW Solara4 solar power station in Alcoutim, in southern Portugal, Jornal de Negócios reports.
The Portuguese newspaper report says CTIEC gives this undertaking in a letter to the Portuguese government.
The report says construction of the €200 million (US$248.2 million) solar farm, a joint venture with Welink Energy (Ireland) Ltd, had been due to begin last April and take two years.
The building work will create up to 600 jobs and, once built, the solar farm will have a workforce of 30, Jornal de Negócios says.
