Dozens of Mozambicans given scholarships to study in China

The Chinese government has awarded over 90 Mozambican students with scholarships to study in China in the new academic year, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency says the students will study civil engineering, mechanical engineering, economics, commerce, agriculture, medicine or other subjects considered important for the economic and social development of Angola.

The report quotes Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique Su Jian, in bidding farewell to the scholars, as saying he wishes them success in building their careers so they can contribute to the development of Mozambique and to Sino-Mozambican friendship.

Nearly 100 Chinese companies have together invested over US$7 billion in Mozambique, Xinhua quotes Mr Su as saying.
