China ready to help Mozambique build industrial parks

China is committed to helping Mozambique build industrial parks as part of the efforts to strengthen bilateral economic relations, said Su Jian, the Chinese Ambassador to the African nation.

Speaking last week at a forum between entrepreneurs from China’s Anhui province and Mozambique, Mr Su said – as quoted by Portuguese news agency Lusa – Mozambique was “in the initial stage of the industrialisation process” and China could offer help in this journey.

China was willing to co-operate with Mozambique by transferring technology and qualified staff, as well as providing technical training of staff, he noted. The fields of construction, agriculture, infrastructure and telecommunication were areas of great interest regarding co-operation between the two nations, he added.

Max Tonela, Mozambique’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, was quoted as saying the industrial parks in the nation could help attract private investments.
