Forno de Minas starts exporting cheese rolls to China

Brazilian leading cheese roll maker Forno de Minas has begun exporting to China, having exhibited samples at the inaugural edition of China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai last November, Xinhua reports.

The Chinese government-run news agency says Forno de Minas sent its first 10 tonnes of cheese rolls to China in May, for sale in Shanghai cafeterias, and sent another 18 tonnes last month.

The report quotes Forno de Minas foreign trade manager, Gabriela Cioba, as saying CIIE was a springboard into the Chinese market because her company found a Chinese importer to represent it at the event, and that the company expects to exhibit at the Global Food Marketplace fair in Shanghai next May.

Forno de Minas is proud to have entered the Chinese market and hopes to make its cheese rolls as globally ubiquitous as Italian pizza, Xinhua quotes Ms Cioba as saying.
