China lends Angola US$10 bln plus for infrastructure in 2017

China has lent Angola over US$10 billion this year to begin several important infrastructure projects, the Chinese Embassy in Luanda says.

A written statement issued by the embassy and posted online quotes Chinese Ambassador to Angola Cui Aimin as saying: “Sino-Angolan business co-operation is maintaining steady momentum, bilateral trade growing by nearly 50 percent in the January-July period.”

Mr Cui said China had trained over 2,500 Angolans and had offered over 300 Angolan civil servants scholarships to study so they can work in various occupations.

“We welcome companies in both countries to jump on this bandwagon,” the Chinese Embassy quotes Mr Cui as saying.
