Chinese association creates fund for Angolan orphans

The Chinese Women’s Association in Angola has set up a fund for orphans in the African nation, Chinese state-run news agency Xinhua reported this week.

The association held on Tuesday a party in the Angolan capital, Luanda, and raised more than 15.16 million kwanzas (US$95,552) for the fund.

Xue Zhimei, secretary general of the association, said it would work with the Angolan Government and local charity organisations to help the orphans.

She also urged the Chinese community in Angola to contribute to the fund as well as to help other people in need in Angola.

The Chinese Women’s Association in Angola was established in June 2015 in Luanda, Xinhua reported.
