Brazilian importer of motor vehicles Foton Aumark do Brasil says Chinese automaker Beiqi Foton Motor Co. Ltd will build a factory in Brazil, Macauhub reports.
The news website quotes a written statement issued by the importer as saying Foton considers Brazil an important market for it to expand into.
The report says building a factory on land it has bought in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul may mean changes in the manufacturing arrangement Foton has with Brazilian maker of commercial vehicles Agrale.
Macauhub says the Foton Aumark do Brasil statement quotes the head of Foton in Brazil, Darren Lu, as saying: “The appropriate moment has arrived to start a new stage, with our direct co-operation in the operation.”
